The T’Sou-ke Nations Treaty Office is located on Indian Reserve #1, two doors down from the T’Sou-ke Nation Administrations Office, which is at 2154 Lazzar Rd in Sooke British Columbia. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
In the Treaty Office you are likely to find the pleasant and smiling faces of Rose Dumont and Denise Purcell, both members of the T’Sou-ke Nations band. Rose is the T’Sou-ke Nation Treaty Clerk and Denise is the T’Sou-ke Nation Treaty Negotiator. They
can be contacted at (250) 642-4320 or e-mailed if there are any questions or concerns to be addressed.
The T’Sou-ke Nation is a member of the Te’Mexw Treaty Association. This Association is comprised of four other First Nations as well as ourselves. They are Songees, Malahat, Beecher Bay and Nanoose First Nations. All are Douglas Treaty First Nations.
Rose and Denise work with a team of other negotiators from these First Nations, with the Intentions of negotiating a modern day Treaty through the B.C. Treaty Process. This Treaty will be supplementary to our Douglas Treaty.
While working for the Treaty Association is the main priority of the these members, the T’Sou-ke Nations bi-weekly newsletter is also produced through the Treaty Office. Every two weeks there is a newsletter forwarded to all T’Sou-ke Nations members. Which supplies both general information and announcements to be made, along with
updates on prior and up coming meetings and events.
